I am an academic, spiritual leader, and practical theologian whose passion is often described as "infectious," "contagious," and "deeply inspiring." In addition to serving as the Senior Rabbi of Congregation Simchat Yisrael in West Haven, CT, I also serve as Associate Professor of Jewish Studies at Messianic Jewish Theological Institute (MJTI) and Adjunct Professor of Jewish Studies at The King's University.
My research is particularly focused on biblical interpretation, Jewish spirituality, rabbinic literature (primarily Midrash), and Jewish-Christian Relations.
I hold a DHL in rabbinic literature and Jewish Spirituality from the Spertus Institute for Jewish Learning and Leadership, a MA in rabbinic writings from MJTI, and a BA in Jewish Studies and Biblical Studies from UCLA.
My doctoral dissertation focused on Theological Protest in Midrash Tehillim.
As an accredited Jewish educator, I have studied in various Jewish institutions, including an Orthodox yeshiva in Europe. I am ordained by the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations and the Messianic Jewish Rabbinical Council.
I currently serve on the Executive Committee of the Messianic Jewish Rabbinical Council, on the Theology and Credentials Committees of the Union of Messianic Jewish Congregations, and previously served congregations in California and Maryland.
I am an avid mountain biker and cyclist, love the outdoors, and married with two sons.
